A vintage-style Boucherouite rug: horizontal bands of multicolored wool and recycled fabric strips, knotted into a soft, shaggy pile. Boucherouite rugs grew out of a thrifty tradition of weaving with whatever textiles were at hand, and this one keeps their joyful, unplanned colour. It is new, hand-knotted to order in our family workshops in Morocco's Rabat-Salé region, so the wool of your rug will be a little brighter and its pile a little fuller than the rug in the photos: the look of an older piece, without the wear. It brings instant warmth and colour to a bedroom, living room, office or entryway, and pairs well with simple furniture or with other patterned textiles for a layered look. Every rug is made by hand, so small differences in pattern and colour from the photos are part of its character. To care for it, vacuum regularly without a beater bar, blot spills straight away with cold water and a little mild soap, turn it every few months so it wears evenly, and have it professionally cleaned about once a year.
