Runner Rug Ivory & Cobalt Blue Moroccan Wool
$809.00
This Runner Rug carries a hallway the way few floor pieces can, a slim ivory and cobalt blue band hand-knotted from pure Moroccan wool. Woven in the Beni Ourain tradition, each runner is made by Amazigh (Berber) artisans in the El Abbassi family workshops in Morocco's Rabat-Sale region, knotted at ten to sixteen knots per square inch on a wooden loom. Wavy stripes travel the length of the runner, cobalt blue rippling against a soft ivory ground, with hand-knotted cream tassels finishing both short ends. The reverse shows the fine twill of a genuine hand-knotted weave, proof of the hours behind it. Colours are drawn from natural plant and mineral dyes, so the tones shift gently along the length rather than repeating mechanically. Built from durable medium-pile wool, this hallway runner is made for the busiest paths in a home. Run it down a corridor or entryway, line a galley kitchen, place it beside the bed, or carry it along a stair landing. The natural lanolin in the wool helps the fibres resist spills and everyday wear, so a well-placed runner looks its best for years. Because every piece is made to order, the length and width can be woven to fit your space exactly, narrow for a tight galley or long enough to span a full corridor. Send your measurements and we will weave the runner to suit. Care is straightforward. Vacuum frequently, as runners take heavy traffic, and spot clean with cold water and a mild soap, blotting spills immediately. A runner pad underneath keeps it from slipping and adds a little cushion. Wool only softens with age. Every order ships free and fully tracked, worldwide, with shipping already included in the price. Each runner is 100% handmade in Morocco and checked by hand before dispatch, so the piece you receive is finished to the standard you see here.
