This orange pink Moroccan rug blends bold abstract design with traditional Berber craftsmanship, scattering hand-drawn symbols across a field that shifts from burnt orange to blush pink. Every rug is hand-knotted by the El Abbassi family in their workshops in Morocco's Rabat-Sale region, in the colourful Azilal tradition. Amazigh (Berber) artisans tie each knot by hand on an upright loom at roughly 10 to 16 knots per square inch, then wash and sun-dry the finished carpet. Because the diamonds, eight-point stars, triangles and striped amphora motifs are drawn freehand, no two rugs are ever identical. The rug is woven from 100% natural Moroccan wool, with a dense shag pile about 2 cm high that feels soft and plush underfoot. The two-tone orange and pink ground is animated by cobalt, teal, magenta, green, ochre and ivory motifs, and hand-braided ivory tassels finish both ends. This is authentic handmade Berber work, not a printed pattern. Shown as an 8x10 (about 7.4 square metres), it is woven to order in any size you need, from a small accent up to a larger room-sized piece - just send your measurements.
