Hand-knotted by Amazigh (Berber) artisans in the El Abbassi family workshops in Salé, in Morocco's Rabat-Salé region, it draws on the Beni Ourain weaving tradition that Berber women have carried for generations. Bold bands of deep black, natural ivory and soft grey run across a plush field. The wool is 100% natural and undyed, so the tones come straight from the fleece, an honest and organic palette that suits minimalist, Scandinavian, boho and mid-century interiors. Each rug is hand-knotted on a traditional loom, never machine-tufted, with a thick high shag pile roughly 5 cm deep that feels wonderfully soft underfoot. Knot density runs about 10 to 16 knots per square inch, and the natural lanolin makes the wool resilient, springy and naturally stain-resistant. The monochrome banding makes this an easy anchor for a calm, contemporary space.
