Made by Amazigh (Berber) artisans in the El Abbassi family workshops in Salé, in Morocco's Rabat-Salé region, it draws on the Middle Atlas weaving tradition of M'rirt, long prized for its long, lustrous, high-altitude wool. The pattern is a checkered grid of deep forest green squares set within a crisp mint-white lattice, running edge to edge across the whole field. It is a Berber wool carpet at heart, reimagined in a modern, mid-century-abstract palette. Colours come from organic dyes made with local plants, gentle on your home and the environment. The pile is medium and plush, soft and cozy underfoot, and the wool's natural lanolin keeps it resilient and stain-resistant for years of use. The mint-white lattice keeps this dark green rug surprisingly easy to place, while the emerald squares make it the statement piece of the room.
