Housewarming Gift Striped Berber Wool Rug

$99.00

A handmade striped wool rug is the kind of housewarming gift that turns a bare new space into a warm, lived-in home. It is woven entirely by hand by Amazigh (Berber) artisans in the El Abbassi family workshops in Sale, in Morocco's Rabat-Sale region, carrying the Beni Ourain weaving tradition into a bold, modern palette. Each row of knots is tied by hand, then the pile is clipped to a soft medium height that feels plush and cushioned underfoot. The design runs deep crimson red and jet black in confident stripes across an ivory field, finished with neatly bound end-borders and hand-knotted corner tassels. It is graphic enough to anchor a room, yet the darker red keeps it easy to live with day after day. The wool is spun from natural sheep's fleece and coloured with organic, plant-based dyes, so the tones stay rich and the fibres keep their natural lanolin - the reason a well-made Berber rug can be passed down for generations. Style it as a living-room centrepiece under a neutral linen or wood-toned sofa, where the stripes draw the eye. Lay it at the foot of the bed for a characterful first step each morning, or use it to define a studio, home office or entryway. Hung on a wall, the striped weave reads like a plush tapestry. Caring for it is simple: vacuum gently without a beater bar, rotate it now and then so it wears evenly, and blot any spills straight away with a damp cloth. A professional clean every year or two keeps the colours crisp. Woven to order and quality-checked before it leaves the workshop, this rug arrives with free worldwide shipping included in the price. Give it as a housewarming present, a new-home gift or a wedding treat, or keep it to celebrate your own fresh start.
