Hosting Decor Rug – Handmade Terracotta Berber Wool

$99.00

Reach for this terracotta and olive green Moroccan wool rug when your hosting decor needs a warm, gathering-ready anchor for the room. Hand-knotted by the El Abbassi family in their workshops in Morocco's Rabat-Salé region, it carries the free-spirited energy of the Beni Ourain weaving tradition into a modern, abstract composition. The design plays free-form terracotta shapes, an olive green branch and a soft ochre bar across an undyed ivory ground. Every knot is tied by hand on a traditional vertical loom at ten to sixteen knots per square inch, a slow craft passed down through generations of Amazigh (Berber) artisans. Natural, undyed sheep wool forms the creamy field, while plant and mineral dyes give the rust, terracotta and olive tones their depth. Hand-tied fringe finishes both ends. Underfoot, the plush high pile is thick, soft and genuinely durable, the kind of rug that softens footsteps during a dinner party and still looks beautiful decades later. The natural lanolin in the wool helps it shrug off spills and everyday wear, so it earns its place in a busy, well-loved home. Styling is easy. Layer it in a living room to pull a seating area together for guests, ground a dining table where people linger, or warm an entry that sets the tone the moment someone walks in. The terracotta reads beautifully against wood, cream, leather and greenery. Shown here at roughly 8x10 feet, it fills a generous room, and we weave to your exact measurements if you need a different footprint. To care for it, vacuum on a gentle setting without a beater bar, blot spills promptly with cold water and mild detergent, and rotate it seasonally for even wear. A professional clean every year or two keeps the colours fresh. Each rug is made to order, then rolled, wrapped and shipped with full tracking. Worldwide shipping is always free and included in the price, with no minimum and no separate delivery charge, so the price you see is the price you pay, delivered to your door.

Every rug is made by hand in the El Abbassi family workshops in Morocco's Rabat-Salé region. See how our rugs are made
