Shag Rug Handmade Blue Cobalt Ivory Berber Wool

$39.60 $99.00

This plush shag rug is a hand-knotted Moroccan Berber carpet in deep cobalt blue and undyed ivory, woven to bring soft texture and a calm, graphic note to a modern room. Thick and dense underfoot, it reads as serene from across a space and beautifully detailed up close. Each carpet is hand-knotted by the El Abbassi family in their workshops in Morocco's Rabat-Salé region, drawing on generations of Amazigh (Berber) weaving knowledge. Rather than a traditional tribal motif, this design sets columns of scalloped cobalt waves against a natural cream ground — a confident two-colour palette that feels at once ancient and contemporary. Finished at both ends with a braided blue-and-ivory tassel fringe, it is a genuine handmade piece, not a machine-made imitation. The pile is where this rug earns its name. Spun from 100% premium wool, the yarn is thick, springy and wonderfully soft, giving that unmistakable shag texture that makes a floor feel warm and inviting. Wool is naturally durable and stain-resistant, and the undyed ivory ground means the colour will never look dated. It is an easy rug to style. Anchor a neutral living room beneath a sofa, lay it at the foot of a bed in a minimalist bedroom, or let the cobalt lift a plain dining setting. It sits just as happily in coastal, boho and Scandinavian interiors, and the ivory field keeps a smaller room feeling open and light. To care for it, vacuum on low power, spot-clean with cold water and a gentle detergent, and have it professionally cleaned when needed; a rug pad underneath adds stability and extends its life. Made to order by hand and available in custom sizes, this blue shag rug ships free worldwide with the cost already included in the price and no minimum order. It arrives rolled, wrapped and tracked, ready to soften your floor the day it lands.

Every rug is made by hand in the El Abbassi family workshops in Morocco's Rabat-Salé region. See how our rugs are made
