Each lozenge is set freehand on a traditional loom at roughly 10 to 16 knots per square inch, from hand-carded, hand-dyed Moroccan wool, so the grid of diamonds stays crisp from either end of the room. Because every diamond is placed by hand, no two carpets ever repeat, and the small variations in the trellis are the mark of a genuine Berber artisan piece rather than a machine weave. The dense shag pile is soft and springy underfoot, with a flatwoven reverse and clean bound edges.
