8x10 Wool Rug Cream Abstract Handmade Mrirt

$99.00

This 8x10 wool rug is a cream abstract Mrirt piece: one forest-green band, a stacked column of mustard and red blocks, and a small black chevron and cross set against a soft cream field. Spare enough to count its parts, it works as floor art as happily as it lies underfoot, a mid-century composition rendered in pure wool. Each rug is hand-knotted to order by Amazigh (Berber) women in the El Abbassi family's workshops in Morocco's Rabat-Sale region, in the M'rirt Middle Atlas weaving tradition. It is a true hand-knotted wool rug, made entirely by hand on a traditional loom rather than machine-tufted, with a medium, dense and springy pile that feels substantial underfoot. The wool is 100% live M'rirt sheep's wool, coloured with organic dyes drawn from local plants and spices. M'rirt fibres are long and lustrous, giving the pile its signature sheen and softness, while the natural lanolin in the wool makes the rug resilient and long-lasting. Black-and-white braided end-borders and hand-knotted ivory tassel fringe finish the piece. The airy cream ground keeps a bright room feeling open while smuggling primary colour into the scheme. Place it under pale furniture as a modern living-room anchor, let it hold its own beside a gallery wall, or settle it into a bedroom or small den. Its calm, graphic character suits mid-century, modern, boho and eclectic interiors alike. Shown here at 8x10, it can be woven to order in any dimension your space calls for. Care is straightforward: vacuum gently without a beater bar, rotate the rug occasionally for even wear, and blot spills promptly with a damp cloth, saving deep cleans for a professional. Because it is genuinely handmade, small variations in the weave are part of its character. Standard worldwide shipping is free on every order and already included in the price, rolled, wrapped and dispatched fully tracked. Wool is the traditional seventh-anniversary gift, making this cream 8x10 wool rug a thoughtful present as well as a lasting anchor for your home.
