It is flat-woven by hand in our family workshops in Morocco's Rabat-Salé region, from 100% natural sheep wool. A kilim has no pile. The pattern is woven straight into the rug: the weaver passes the cobalt and ivory wool through the warp threads row by row, building the zigzag as she goes. The result is thin, light and strong, with woven edges and braided fringe at both ends. It lies flat under furniture and doors, and works well in hallways, kitchens and bedrooms, or layered over a larger rug. The crisp blue-and-white pattern suits coastal, Scandinavian, bohemian and modern interiors, and pairs well with white walls, pale wood, linen and rattan. Every rug is made by hand, so small differences in pattern and colour from the photos are part of its character.
