Woven by Berber artisans in Morocco's Rabat-Salé region, it sets rows of small diamonds in pink, cobalt blue, yellow, orange, mint, grey and black against a deep olive ground, each shape outlined in undyed cream wool. The plush pile feels wonderfully soft underfoot and carries natural, plant and mineral dyed colour into your space. It is a modern take on classic Berber weaving. Where a traditional rug leaves the cream field plain, here the whole surface is worked as a colourful diamond lattice, closed at both short ends by narrow flatwoven kilim panels and hand-knotted cream tassels. Hand-knotted at roughly ten to sixteen knots per square inch, it is dense, durable and made to last for years of daily use. Turn it over and the reverse reads as a fine flatwoven grid echoing the same colours. This is a wonderfully versatile floor covering. Lay it beside a bed so your feet meet softness each morning, centre it under a coffee table in a boho living room, warm a studio, or define a quiet reading corner.
