Boujaad rugs are woven in the Haouz plains between the Middle Atlas and the Atlantic coast, around the town of Boujad. They are unmistakable for their palette: warm pinks, corals, oranges, and reds drawn from henna, madder root, and other natural dyes. Motifs range from bold diamonds to loose, dreamlike figures that feel closer to abstract painting than to strict geometry.
The wool is soft and the pile medium-height — comfortable underfoot but easier to keep than a deep shag.
